Our Story
As a mum of two, an art teacher and pottery student, I know how powerful and therapeutic creating from clay can be. When you are making something with your hands you enter a different head-space, which I am sure is good for the soul.
After discovering the clay kits I wanted for my own children didn’t exist, I created Children of Clay to give children the chance to create a piece of art from home. In the words of Pablo Picasso, every child is an artist.

Children of clay are creative clay kits for kids which contain easy to read written instructions, supported by clear illustrations, which guide a child to make one clay creation each month. All the paints and clay you will need will be within the box and with your first subscription box, or one-off box, you will receive the tools needed to make any of the creations.
Our guide is that the boxes are for children ages 4-9 due to the motor skills involved in modelling clay. Inside each box are easy to read instructions, which can either be read by the child or to the child. If a child can’t read, there are also clear illustrations to support each step. However, we would suggest that the younger children are supported by an adult to complete the activity.
We create short videos on Instagram that can watched by children and their parents which guides them through the steps of making a creation.
There is 500g of clay in each box.
You will not need to purchase anything extra, everything you need to make one clay creation will be provided in the box.
We do sell extra clay and other accessories on our website should you need anything extra. (items for sale on the website do not include FREE P&P)
Air-dry clay so no need for a kiln.
